Dissimilar Thoughts

 Superstitions are very amateur among the people, and people just start to follow them blindly without even knowing that they are just based on rumours. One of the famous one is to hang lemon and spice at the main gate in order to protect the house and the members of the house from malocchio of the people. Once I wanted to stop this but finally I took it as a bitter pill as I can’t stop everyone. 

Even my own family members, excluding my parents, believe in such superstitions. They believe that the house should be cleaned on a regular basis. One day I was on my phone surfing on YouTube; I saw a video in which the people told ‘nuske’. One of them was how to ace exam without studying. The minute I saw the subtitle I exasperated.

After that, I closed the app and went to sleep. The next day, my friends were discussing how to invoke ghosts. I listened to their conversation carefully, and was on pins and needles. After the long fatigued day I came back home and rushed towards my mum and told her everything. After listening to me she laughed and told me, “Dear this world is surrounded by rumours and superstitions but we just have to work hard and smart and it is not necessary to follow these sometimes we have to ignore these.”

Since that day I just have been doing what my mother advised. I work my fingers to the bone and also engross in my studies.
